The Original Ingham Method in Reflexology® Bridging course for Professionals

Ingham Method ® of Reflexology completed their final exams - theoretical and practical, with success. Congratulations go to Nino Colomer, Flor Altena, Inma Pasalodos, Natalia Molina and Patricia Pagola for passing both the practical and theoretical examination.
The course, aimed at reflexologists with basic training was quite intensive and it seems the most interesting part of this training was the technique itself, with specific manipulations and protocols, unique to this method. One of the other points highlighted in this training was the special attention to the therapist's positioning and the most effective way to hold the feet.
The students and organization of Edireflex are very satisfied with these results and the level of training.

Precision reflexology

 Here is another little review I have prepared of the second module of the postgraduate course in Precision Reflexology taught by Jan Williamson on the 15th and 16th May 2010.
This method works by using the thumb or middle finger of one hand and the thumb or middle finger of the other hand, connecting 2 or 3 specific points at the same time (links) and thereby adding strength to the treatment. The application of links can cause different types of responses and feelings , some clients say they have a sense of expansion, profound relaxation, etc ... you use the links subtly and can apply a maximum of 6 links in each treatment, Precision reflexology emphasizes the effects of conventional reflexology and can be applied for a variety of different disorders both physical or emotional.
In this module we learned the following links:
1. Leg to lumbar 5 to connective hip - for disorders in hip and leg.
2. Arm to connective shoulder - for any disorders of the shoulder and arms.
3 Pituitary gland to ovary to uterus or Pituitary gland to prostate to testicle - for disorders of the reproductive system
4. Adrenals to pituitary to thyroid - to facilitate emotional release, useful in menopause.
5. Of adrenal groin (3 ways), is used to improve circulation, diabetes, fatigue
6. Lumbar 5 to hip to sciatic loop - to relieve sciatica and lumbago
7. Gallbladder to itself- to strengthen the digestive system and for liver problems.
8. Pineal to base of spine - applied at the end of treatment activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helpful for anxiety and relaxation.
We also discussed the chakra system, their correspondences and relationship with the endocrine glands:
The first chakra: Base, with gonads (testes or ovaries)
The second chakra: Sacral, with the adrenal glands
The third chakra: Solar plexus, with the pancreas
The fourth chakra: Heart, with the thymus gland
The fifth chakra: Throat, with the thyroid glands
The sixth chakra: Brow or third eye, with the pituitary gland
The seventh chakra: Crown, with the pineal gland
From the day I learned this method I use the links at any time at the beginning, middle or / and at the end of conventional reflexology treatment, depending on who and what I have before me or has been conveyed or intuited and noticed during the session.

SOKU SHIN DO - JAPANESE FOOT REFLEXOLOGY

On the 20th and 21st of November 2010 EDiREFLEX held the first module of the course Soku-Shin Do – Japanese Reflexology. This reflexology technique is based on the Fundamentals of Chinese Medicine, meridians, acupuncture points and reflex zones enforced by the master Shibata (1930), with a unique method of assessing dermatomical signs and unique techniques applied to the feet and hands.
The weekend was very interesting and intensive, and it´s bases in Traditional Chinese Medicine opened up a new way of looking at the feet, contemplating meridians rather than reflex zones. The second module of this course will be held on the 21st and 22nd of January 2011.

15th Annual Earth Day Fair - Barcelona

On the 24th and 25th of April 2010, EDiREFLEX participated in the 15th Annual Earth Day Fair in the Ciutadella Park in Barcelona.
The 15th Earth Day Fair , organized by the Earth day association was dedicated to the birth of the green generation, the generation that must unlearn the ways of living and working conditions that threaten the continuity of life on Earth and advocate that we need to learn to live within the limitations of the planet, learning to live well without damaging our environment.
Like every year Edireflex participated with a booth promoting Reflexology and giving taster sessions to the general public. It was a great success for the promotion of our therapy.

ALTERNATIVE FAIR Sant Pol de Mar

On 13, 14 and 15 August EDiREFLEX participated in the Fira Alternativa (Alternative Fair) held in the Sant Pol de Mar, Coastal Park, Barcelona. Edireflex participated with a booth promoting Reflexology and giving taster sessions to the general public. It was a great success for the promotion of our therapy.
