Who we are and what we do
EDIREFLEX- HISTORY OF THE ASSOCIATION
The association was formed as a result of the restlessness of a group of practicing reflexologists who saw the need to share experiences, extend their knowledge, promote and favour the research and study of reflexology.
At the beginning of 2003 they began working on their dream, setting up the foundations to register the association in the Generalitat of Catalunya with the name EDIREFLEX Estudi i difusió de les reflexologies (Study and difussion of reflexologies).
In 2008 the association´s head office was moved from Sanament in Via Augusta, Barcelona to our current address.
The association is currently in a phase of consolidation and gradual growth incorporating new activities to the association.
The association has created a space to:
1. Exchange treatments between members, professionals and people interested in Reflexology.
2. Contact with other national and international reflexology associations.
3. Consult between members queries and experiences about localization of points, pathologies, etc.
4. Allow continued professional development: bringing renowned tutors, organising conferences, workshops and talks.
5. Access informative documentation relevant to our profession.
6. Attract new members.
7. Promote Reflexology.
8. Setting up scientific research of Reflexology.
The members of the association meet once a month at their head office situated in c/ Varsovia 52-54, 08041 Barcelona.
Treatment exchanges are held during these monthly meetings covering theoretical as well as practical points, non members can also participate for a modest price. During the exchanges themes related to pathologies as well as queries that may arise during different treatments are discussed.
Currently the association is running monthly refresher anatomy and physiology workshops for reflexologists covering all the systems of the body. Other activities include talks by veteran reflexologists in Spain to share their experiences and anecdotes.
The assocation is currently made up of :
